STORY BEGINNING OF MALANGOn the landmark of Malang was noted
MALANG KUCECWARA which mean "God will dissolve the incorrect way and will maintain the kindness". That Idiom was claimed as the slogan of Local Government on April 1, 1914.

The slogan is much related to the beginning story of Malang which happened on the glory era of Ken Arok for about 8 centuries ago. There was a place around the temple called Malang. Location of the temple does still in question and needs more observations. Based on Dinoyo's stone inscription, Malang and its surround areas ? included Singosari ? was the centre of political and cultural activity since 760 until 1414. The activity at that moment was followed by cultural activity could not only be described as the development of a dynasty, but also sequential of political and cultural from few generations. As said by Alm. Prof. Drs. S. Wojowasito on his writing about the historical beginning of Malang City.
Furthermore as that is said by this few generations, there is an unrelated relationship between one generation to each other, like Dewasimba Generation, Gajayana at Dinoyo with Balitung Generation. Daksa, Tulodog and Hawa, and finally Sindhok. The generation was going to continue to Dharmawangsa, Airlangga until Kertajaya as the last generation (1215 - 1222).
Then, Ken Arok dynasty was the first cycle of Majapahit Kingdoms until the last Kingdom ? Bhre Tumapel (1447-1451). When Ken Arok did his activity, Tumapel is only like a municipality of Jenggala Region which was held on Kertajaya authority from Kediri at that moment. Batara Malangkucecwara was noted on a charter near to Singosari on 908. That charter was explained that people who had the charter were the worshiper of Batara from Malangkucecwara, Putecwara Kutusan, Cilebhedecwara and Tulecwara. Stating the names like Batara from Malangkucecwara, Putecwara and so on, proved that those names was the name of kingdoms have ever conducted there and when they were buried in the temple, they were called Batara. From that fact as stated in Dinoyo's Charter, it is make sense that Malangkucecwara Temple is near by today's Malang City.
