An advocation program JPES (Jaring Pengaman Ekonomi dan Sosial) 2008 will be soon being contributed. Today that government program which is dedicated to some needy families will be socialized to 57 sub-districts. The event will be held in Mojopahit hall and attended by Pth. Mayor of Malang, Ir. Achmad Basuki, Chief of SKPD, all sub-regency and village chief of Malang also program advisors.

As many as 57 sub-district will receive that donation of JPES program. The source of allocation of JPES’ fund is from East Java APBD as much as 730 million rupiah. It is aimed to nine sub-districts in five districts. They are sub-district Blimbing and Balearjosari in district Blimbing, sub-district Bandulan and Mulyorejo in district Sukun, sub-district Dinoyo and Tasikmadu in disctrict Lowokwaru, sub-district Madyopuro in district Kedungkandang, and sub-district Klojen and Penanggungan in district Klojen. Pemkot Malang itselves provided an extra fund by 1,7 milliard for 49 sub-districts in Malang. So that the total amount of fund which will be donated is 2,43 milliard rupiah.

Chief of division of development arrangement (BadanPerencanaan Pembangunan Kota) Malang, Ir. Bachtiar Ismail said that program of effort in eliminating poverty focused on labour intensive program that is by founding facility in local area such as bridges, foundation,  aqueduct, and others with participation local needy society.

Bachtiar explained that JPES is a specific program of eliminating poverty in East Java. Its form is an social economy empowerment of needy society. By doing so, hope that needy society is able to develop and progress.

“JPES program which is funded from APBD East Java and Malang year 2008 still be focused on labour intensive patern, that is a program of founding facility of local area and it carries out the participation of workers and local needy society. Besides, it is assisted by advisor from province as well as Malang”, Bachtiar Ismail said.

Meanwhile, Pth. Mayor of Malang, Achmad Basuki uttered that based on result of survey data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) year 2006, there were 24.272 KK (Kepala Keluarga) of needy society in Malangor as much as 94.655 people. While result of verification and observation (coklit) of sub-district in year 2006, it is showed that there were 35.608 KK or 129.693 people of poor society.
